Upcoming Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon Charity Events

Tampa , FL - January 14, 2005 - During 2004, from their initiation in April through December, Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon participated in numerous charity events throughout the Tampa Bay area and made several charitable contributions. Some of the organizations or groups that benefited are:

•  Meals on Wheels of Tampa
•  Hillsborough County School System
•  Metropolitan Ministries
•  Humane Society of Tampa Bay
•  Hurricane victims aid groups
•  Coastal cleanup groups
•  Crohn's Foundation

Tsunami Relief - through the month of January
Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon members are uniting to help the millions of people on the other side of the globe with this horrible tragedy. Millions of Americans are doing their part to send relief to the devastated people of eleven countries across Asia hit by the Tsunami. In just two weeks, private Americans have donated more than $80 million to one fund, the American Red Cross International Relief Fund.

Members of Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon will be donating on or before January 27 th to several different funds to support the relief and rebuilding efforts in that region of the world. They encourage everyone to join in and contribute to the charity of your choice.

God's Pedal Power Ministry - Thursday, January 13 th , 6:30 p.m.
In conjunction with their Bar Roll Social on Thursday, January 13 th , Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon will be supporting God's Pedal Power Ministry (GPPM) through bike rentals and charitable contributions.

To get in shape for parade season, Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon has organized a Roll rather than a Stroll and encourages all attendees to bring their roller blades, roller skates, and bicycles. The schedule of the bars, times and locations will be provided at the tavern for those that want t to attend but do not have bikes or blades.

GPPM is located on the grounds of the University Baptist Church at the corners of 22nd and 131st streets in St. Petersburg . They fall under the insurance wing and the 501c3 classification of this church. They are 100% volunteers. No one affiliated with the bike ministry makes money. GPPM receives used bicycles and refurbishes them and gives them away to needy children and adults at no charge along with a safety lesson and a helmet.

Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon has made arrangements with GPPM to provide ten to twelve refurbished bicycles for the evening. If you would like to rent one of these bicycles, they will be available on a first come, first serve basis. They will rent for a $20 donation to GPPM. Even If you have rollerblades or a bicycle, you may also donate $20 or more to this worthy cause. In addition, there will be several raffles held that will benefit GPPM.

The Spring - Sunday January 23 rd , 10:00 a.m.
The Spring is a United Way agency, a state-certified domestic violence service provider and nationally accredited by the Council On Accreditation for Families and Youth (COA) for the myriad of services they provide their clients. Their Batterer's Intervention Program is certified by the state of Florida .

The Spring of Tampa Bay, Inc. was incorporated in 1977 to provide a safe place for victims of domestic violence. After many renovations and expansions, The Spring now has five service sites: The shelter with an on-site school and child care center, a transitional housing apartment complex, two Outreach centers (one in Tampa and the other in Plant City), and Simply Spring Thrift Store/Donation Warehouse.

Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon will be using the donations that were collected at their last General Membership meeting and head to Home Depot and purchase items to spruce up The grounds at The Spring. Please bring gardening equipment and join us for this worth while cause.

Mission : Ye Enchanted Krewe of Brigadoon was formed by many, not one: to encourage and facilitate camaraderie and fellowship by providing and opportunity to support charity organizations and to participate in local parades.
